Be sure the points are gapped correctly. I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I've heard people on this forum say that 90% of new condensers are bad. Put in the old condenser and see if its got any spark.

Dear Andy that is not true. One out of 2000 new condensers being bad would surprise me. Old condensers do go bad but most are replaced for no reason. They are not a wear point with a life span, they die from heat exposure and cheap construction. JimN

I did not really believe that new condensers were bad, just saying what I've heard.

Do you have the points set correctly @ .013" when fully OPEN?

Have you cleaned them with electrical contact cleaner to remove any oil and dust that may be on them, preventing good contact?

Did you mess something up in the points/condensor area, causing a short to ground? How about the wire to the condensor... is that in place around the condensor stud?

Did you have the little cover off that surrounds the rotor shaft, and get the timing of the little gears inside messed up?

Do you have access to the IH Blue Ribbon Service Manual for mags?

Don't have a clue as i did not do it . So best go back and look over what ya did ? check the setting on the points , check the gap on the plugs and did ya use copper core wires or then elcheepo carbon core wires from and a elcheepo auto parts store. . Ya sure that you have nothing grounding out inside the mag , are yo sure that ya did not get it out of time???? Are you sure that ya ot the wires back on wright????? GOT BOOK , look in BOOK and read . IF don't have BOOK then get one.
