Just finished rebuilding the touch control unit not to diffcult (cost for parts 206.00 includes arm boots,o-rings,gaskets etc.) no more leaks however, looks like it will need a hydraulic pump just wondering if the old one can be rebuilt or should new pump be purchased? What is the costs for rebuild vs. the costs for a new one? Any test to confirm the pump is bad? I do have to idle up the tractor to get the belly mower to raise.

Robert,
The TC unit looks to be quite heavy. I suspect the SuperA and the 130 (which I have) are about the same. How did you find it was to lift off the tractor? Did you do it by hand? How long did it take you to open, re-seal, o-ring, and put back together?

Ed: An old geezer like me can still lift it off, probably 60-70#, unless I'm stronger than I think. I rather doubt that, I'm quite accurate, used to be, doing up 50# bags of cabbage and rutabagas.

I need to do the same thing to mine. Did you buy the over haul parts in a kit? If so where did you get it. Also does it come with a breakdown picture of system?

Yes the rebuilt kit is at the dealer for 106.00 however, the boots for rods are extra along with the bushings that go into the main drive pitions arms.(an additional cost of 100.000) no instruction are included you need a shop manual or the dealer can print a copy for you to reassemble. I suggest you get the two o-rings that go on the control rods seperate to be sure you get the right ones and have a good seal hopes this helps good luck. Keep everything clean.

Robert: You say just finished, therefore I wouldn't get hasty on the pump. You may still have some air in the system, and they don't lift very well with air. Try working each hydraulic rockshaft full stroke about 20-30 times, with fill cap open, and at brisk idle. Try to have a bit of load on the rockshafts, mower is good for that one.

George is correct, only thing you can rebuild on the pump is the seals around the shaft, letting it leak hydraulic oil into the crankcase. No point taking that one apart if it's not leaking. Over the next several days, I'd do accutate reading in both hydraulic reservoir and crankcase. That will soon tell you if leaking. I've never had one leak at the pump, but I expect it only leaks much with tractor running.

Can't rebuild those pumps. The best you can do is replace seals in them. I suspect yours is bad. They can be tested by someone with a pressure gauge and flow rater.

I am no expert other guys here would be better by a long way, but Have you checked the fluid level, filter if it has one and even try new oil? Just thinking. Ron
