Blocking clutch on 300u

I previously had a Ford 2N, and the majority said that clutch should be blocked if not run every 2-3 weeks or so. Does the same hold true on the 300U, or don't they have the problem with the clutch sticking?
Thanks for reading!

Jimer:

Block the clutch open; it can be very expensive not to.

Trust me on this one!

out of my 9 tractors, my farmall h is the only one that sticks. seems like it only does it when you really need that tractor, its got a loader on it at my other farm. doesnt get used a lot. it also has an onery carb float that seems to leak only when it wants to. so, i keep the clutch blocked on that one.

I agree with Hugh.
If you do block it it only takes a few seconds.
Block it so that it just releases, there is no need to have it depressed all the way. JimN

Jimer: Some of these all makes seem to give trouble. Not sure quite why. My suspicion, they are tractors not used very much, thus condensation develops inside castings, then the moisture creates rust.

I've had tractors around all my life running as many as 5-9 of them at any given time through the the 60s, 70s and 80s. All but 1 or 2 of them were parked for 4-5 months in winter. Still have 3 tractors and 2 of them never move all winter. Bacically when fall comes I check the antifreeze, shut them off and walk away. When I said all my life, dad had 1 when I was born, 2 by the time I was 8 and a 3rd one came along by the time I was 15, and it grew from there. I've never blocked a clutch, and I've never had a stuck clutch. Bear in mind these tractors were used a lot, some as much as 1,000 hours per year. I don't do that many hours with these little offset Farmalls nowadays, but I expect they each see close to 50 hours. I still check the antifreeze and walk away.

My advice would be, if your doing less than 50 tractor hours per year block em. Doesn't matter what make, tractors were all designed so heat evaporated condensation, and that requires a few worked to the limit, 8-10 hour days.

The only time I ever had a clutch stick was just after I had powerwashed inside of the torque tube to get rid of 60 years accumulation of crud from leaky seals. Once it all got dried out, it never bothered again.
