Mark,

You're going to jump down my throat for trying to help a guy make a few bucks? Sheesh.

Most reasonable people wouldn't hack up an implement if they knew they could make a few hundred dollars. So I said, don't hack it up, it's valuable. Buy it and flip it for some quick cash.

Ebay currently has three cub tillers listed for $99 each - asking. But not one angle drive gear box that is needed to hook them up to a cub cadet.

The only cub (not cub cadet) tiller i have seen was pto driven, and they are a little pricey. Around $400 to $500. the Despeeder that went on the cub final drive to slow the cub down to get better digging is around $800 to $1100.

All Cub implements are specific to the Cub. They will not fit any other tractors, period.

I suppose you could hack up the tiller with a torch and welder, but the 30HP 350 will tear it apart, as it is only designed for an 8HP tractor. You will also be tearing up a VERY rare and valuable piece of equipment.

If the tiller is in good condition and relatively cheap buy it and resell it for a huge profit.

Nat 2,

Laying it on kinda thick aren't you? The minute one of you collector types read where somebody is checking compatibility or considering making a minor modification, you go off the deep end. The man never asked for a sermon, he never asked how VALUABLE the tiller was, in fact he never said anything about modifying it. He just wanted to know if it would work.

All you had to say was....No, it won't work.

And if the man does decide to take a torch and hack it all to Hell, that's none of OUR business either.

Those old tillers aren't all that "Valuable" or "rare". To many people lost/ruined the right angle drives before many were truly worn out.

You'll see them sell cheap on Ebay until you decide you want to buy one - then they suddenly seem to double or triple in price.

The only Cub tiller I have seen was belt driven and had no right angle gearbox. In fact I own it and I wish I could find it.

Other than red paint, a Cub and a 350 have virtually nothing in common.

The Cub PTO turns backwards and at a different speed than a 350 PTO.
