A few days ago I posted a message about my H not starting and thanks to you all that responded it is now running fine. The problem was as Allen in NE thought, I was jumping it direct to the starter and not getting enough power to the Ignition to fire, I put in a new battery and retimed the Mag now it is starting and running great. I have never been able to change the points without getting it out of time. Thanks again, Ed

Your mag doesn't need battery voltage, it is required on a distributor. Hal
PS: If you ran battery voltage to a mag you will fry the coil unless your mag has been converted to a distributor.

The mag doesen't fire it any more just houses the points and condensor, it has a coil and does have to have battery voltage to fire. ed
