Pat: Don't feel guilty, sounds like you've done you share over the years. I used to be like you, however times have changed, your own safety is a concern. Now, when I was a young man, I once encountered a bad situation, at that time I was able to deal with it, don't think I am anymore. anyhow, two guys and I parted company, and let me assure you we all learned a lesson. Be aware there are some bad CATS on our roads today, some of the tactics they use, I wouldn't want to deal with even if I were as young as you. My two guys were bare handed, as was I, we can deal with that.

Take care an remember that young lady comes first, she might want you alive.

What you have is Nice Guy Syndrome...it sounds as tho your thoughtfull and have helped many friends over the years but no matter how much you help others, you always feel guilty for not going that extra mile that one other time. You just cant help everyone, no matter how much you"d like to.

You didn't have the time so it can't be helped. Now if you had plenty of time and just didn't want to mess with him, then that's different.

Depending where you are, sometimes its not safe to stop anymore. They might bonk you in the head and take your ride.

Dont beat yourself up, somebody else proabably was right behind you to help.

Gene

I agree with I Wanna,
The only future plan I would make in this communication based society would be to call and touch base with the "she" to advise her of the situation to find a harmonious compromise. JimN

I don't know if you can put "she" and "harmonius compromise" in the same paragragh, can you?

Because I have ""saved"" my wife on many occasions when transportation challenges compromised her mobility, she respects my willingness to assist others (probably for the maintenance of my ad hock skill level) JimN

naw. you are a great guy, and if you even thought of stopping and then later beating yourself up over not doing anything, then youre fine. I think you did the right thing, sounds like you have helped many a person in a broken truck.
