Anyone ever buy one of these new lights for the back end with the switch that turns it red? I was wondering if they are any good? I see them for sale starting at around $70 plus shipping up to the $115-120 range. Don't understand the price difference. Seems like they would be a good deal if they are any good. Home stretch! This and a battery box and a couple of seat covers and the B will be in good ole take it to the field and crash thru the brambles condition!
A tractor you can play with!

Does your drivers seat have the place for the bracket or are you going to mount it to the seat i sold you. You need the little bracket for the rod which the lite bolts. I never did get around to answering you as i have been busy hauling corn.

Couldn't say what the diffference in price is, Dave, from source to source.

I've got one on each tractor and have not been real happy with the quality of the switch in them. It clicks right in for the white light position, but doesn't click well for the red. I have to kind of turn it to find the point for red, and it turns stiffly enough to stay there. I've tinkered with tightening and loosening the nut that holds the stem of the switch to the shroud, but it doesn't seem to make any difference and, by the design of it, shouldn't anyway.

It works, just not the way I'd expect it to.

Two small things. Not sure what you wound up with for a light switch/wiring in the 12v conversion, but the rear light is not affected by the dimmer on a four-position switch -- it stays on bright when it's on. That, and the red doesn't look like much in the light of day, but in the dark, that Guide lens does a pretty decent job of making a big round, if not necessarily bright, red spot at the rear for ya.

I haven't done the wiring for the lights yet. Kids basketball all weekend and now the weather is purty dang cold (balmy by your standards) so I am working in the office until it gets warmer later in the week...but then I have to go to Chicago. There is still an original light switch on the steering column that looks quite good. I have a 12 volt diagram you fellas sent me a good while back and Dad's old Simpson meter to trace continuity. Might just be I get through this one with out cluttering up the forum too much, eh?!?
Hope for some nice days next week and a little luck getting my last light and I will be in business. You'll know when it happens...heck, everyone will know when it happens!

I just got the one with the toggle switch and bullet light for an A off ebay. Nice high quality piece. $65 +10 shipping. Don't know how they can do it for that money.

If it has the small bullet light mounted on top of the big lamp, it is not a new unit. I have seen a few reproductions of that small light, but they are a very poor copy, and the lens is made of plastic.
