One front spindle looks like a replacement, good shape and the knuckle is double the size of normal. By knuckle i mean that part where the axle joins the spindle. big as your fist. the other side is worn out, but i can't afford a new one right now. the biggest problem is the thrust bearing landing is half chewed away. it looks like an old thrust bearing blew apart at one time and the thrust bearing in place was locked up. There's my steering problem!!! the race was shiny like chrome where it was turning.

anyway, can i weld and build up the area where the thrust bearing lands? will a normal wire welder hold or will it just break off? if it would hold a few months i will buy a new spindle by then.

If your 826 is similar to the 1066, & I think it is, try fitting a thin rim machinery washer[bushing] up in where the thrust bearing fits & see if it fills the worn area which was damaged. This made a lot of difference on the 1066. In fact, the splined steering arm could be cranked down tight enough to take up all play. Good luck with yours.
