well i got the tractor all painted took the rotor off so i could put a new hydralic pump on re timed it now it wont start does the hydralic pump have to be timed some how to correspond with the rotor we have spark and it wont do nothing thanks for any help

Yes. THe position ot the drive (from pump to distributor must be as it was. How to get there.
Pull #1 plug and turn the engine till it blows your thumb out of the hole. (slow bumps on starter) then put a piece of copper wire 8" long into the hole to feel for TDC. Rotate until almost to the top and then look at the pulley timing marks.
Set it at TDC.
Pull the pump with the distributor on it out of the hole and turn it so the rotor points to the 1:00 o'clock position when the pump is in all the way. Some trial is needed due to the spiral (helical) cut of the gears.
Then bolt it together and re time the ignition as in the book.
You are then good top go. JimN
