Yesterday I hauled home a WK-40 McCormick tractor. The engine is free and it ran 5 years ago. However,it was parked because of an internal water leak which is probably a sleeve o-ring.

It has a WA-40 gas manifold on it and a TA-40 crawler hood.

I owned several 40 series tractors 20-30 years ago and engine parts werent easy to get back then. Are gasket sets still available?

I got a running 372 cubic inch IH truck engine with it to use if the other engine is junk.Any advice for putting it in?I know the timing gear cover has to be used off the original engine.

Maybe a good tank there blaine??? LOL. The red diamond engines will fit right in, keep the front cover/ flywheel/ bell housing/ clutch/ output shaft, etc. Any tractor with a whole engine in it will convert over, i had to buy all my parts across the country. Those pieces are gettin super hard to find alright. Is that two for you now? That is spectacular. Parts tractors just aren't around. Have you talked to Ron Johnson or Robert Seagar yet?? We had one with a crack inside under the sleeve o-ring area and still fixed it.

Russ, yep thats the 2nd WK-40 for me this year.I may sell the first one as this ones much nicer. Thanks for the info.

I was by Ron J's place in late Aug and spent about 2 hours there which wasnt nearly long enough..He had his WK-40 out of the shed with the big tires and the RD 501.It sounded nice.Ron sure has the 40 stuff around.I'll talk to him if I put the 372 truck engine in.

I still need a WK-40 drawbar turnbuckle.

I may have a WK-40 for sale next year if a local collector doesnt buy it.It once had a starter motor on it but it got robbed.

I already know what a great tractor they are.(grin) Between 1975-85 I owned a complete set of 40 series McCormicks with some extras.
