I am looking for advice,(help). After rebuilding my engine it was next to impossible to get the air out of the fuel system. Started it and it ran approx. 5 mins then idled down and died. Did not want to start. Waited 5min started and ran approx. 30 sec to a minute. It appears to just run fuel out of pump. Now what I have done up to this point:Replaced all questionable fuel line: pressured the fuel tank with air while running(no good):Have good fuel flow at pump:Pulled inlet out of pump (screen clean): Pulled bypass outlet not plugged ceramic ball check in place: Ran engine with 2 injector lines loose trying to purge air. While I overhauled engine I left the injector pump bolted to engine and it was rolled upside down on motor stand several times.!!!!! !!!!! !!!PL

There should be enough fuel at the return to make a pretty good mess with the line cracked

Thanks for the help, took the return line loose, not much fuel coming out of the pump. Unscrewed the fitting out of the pump and check valve was clear. Put a hose connection on the pump return started engine it ran great, after 3-4 minutes of run time shut down and looked in the bucket where I had put the return line, small black piece of look like gasket material(appears it was floating around and plugging return line check). Now how did that get in there ????? ????thanks again PL
