Well its a runner. Hauled it in last night and about 30 minutes ago I drove it off the trailer. Now for the real work. It needs one rear tire, an ignition switch and just plain a lot of TLC. Looks like it may also be a distalite type of H since it has a heat shield on the manifold but it only has the single fuel tank but the hood does have one empty hole in it so that maybe where the small tank should have been

I've seen a number of H's where the owners took the "extra" parts off because they didn't use them. Also I've seen them throw distilate hoods with the extra hole, on because they were available. As far as what you have, it sounds like you have a distillate manifold because it still has the shield on it, but you don't have any of the other stuff needed for kerosene or distillate.
Let me ask you, does the heat selection lever on the manifold still work? I have yet to find one that moves. They all seem to be rusted.

Rich, good luck with it. I have the 44 H in the shop now for a restore/refurbish or whatever you want to call it. A neighbor gave me an excellent duel fuel hood for it this morning. Don't have the heat sheild though. Tractor has shutters, but no starter tank.

This one looks like it had shutters at one time but doesn't now. Also the extra hole in the hood is on the right side just behind the gauges

Bought a whole rear end off the guy that gave me the hood today for 50 bucks. It has a good hydraulic pump, steering wheel and all. I think lots of shutters have been thrown away over the year. I am sure all dual fuel models had them when new.
