I should replace the transmission lubricant in my Farmall H. Can I use the current Hy-Tran or a heavier gear lube?
Thanks, Gary

Use 80-90 gear lube, do not use hydraulic/trans oil

Non-detergent is only for the belly pump hydraulic system - and 30 weight at that. Hy-Tran works well for the belly pump and it is what I use.

The transmission and rearend require SAE 90 or 85W-140... I prefer the 85W-140 as I use my H in the winter and summer.

Book says 90wt.I use 80-90.I don't think 50 year old seal design would hold Hytran

As I understand 90 weight.

Also non-detergent so it doesn't foam right ?
