If I read the serial number right its a 1940 # is 51513. Funny thing is this is the 4th 1940 H I have hauled in. Why is it that I can't seem to ever get another year H on the place. I hope to have this one up and running with in a week. Tomorrow I'm going to do the good old ATF treatment to it because it seems to turn over way to easy and figure it has stuck rings and or valves

I brought one home 2 years ago that turned over real easy also. Found out the previous owner had pulled it to unstick it without loosening the rockers and it had several bent push rods and stuck valves.

Always glad to hear about the old iron being rescued. In the past, we often discover our future.

Sounds like my problem, I have 3-1942 H's... oh well, at least one is just a parts skeleton and there are only two to keep running.

Thanks for saving another one from becoming an econo box car...

Well as it sits right now I figure the ATF and a coil and maybe cleaning the points a some gas and it should fire up. Engine spins over easy by hand turning the fan is why I'm doing the ATF. Starter had enough pull to load it on the trailer so thats not a problem. Looks pretty good for a 1940 but shoot I don't need another 1940 but sure better then seeing it go for scrap
