Greetings to all the big red folks out there. I am still searching for a set of +040" or +050" or +060" oversize crankshaft/main bearings to fit a 1949 Farmall M. None of the main dealers have them in stock or even available to order. I can get a +060 single centre bearing. Does anyone know of a dealer or a hoarder( like me) who has a batch of International 'new old stock'who just might have what I need. If so I shall be eternally grateful if you can get them to contact me on this site. Thank you in advance Mike Farmer

Remember M cranks after 278XXX have larger journals than earlier.

Hi because I'm reasonably honest I did a bit of reading(within my obviously limited capabilities) and find that indeed we are using both methods to identify oversize/undersize bearings. that is +040" and.040 Incidently I tried using it as an anchor but when I pulled it up it was still basically the same but it went a sort of rusty colour please advise if that was supposed to happen.Mike Farmer

This is just a cross atlantic change of terminology. We call them +040 etc. Up to +060" were definitely manufactured. Sadly there aren't 'plenty of good ones about' in England. But thanks anyway Mike Farmer

I"ll bet you can find a crankshaft that only needs to be cut .010" a lot cheaper than a set of NOS .060" bearings (if they even exist).

Please accept this as information not ignition!!
Journal bearings (man=ins and rods are undersized not + sized. One asks for .010' under bearings. I have never herd of bearings more than .030" under for farmalls. JimN

I think they call them oversize since they're thicker, still are known as undersize. Hal

Give Broke F Farm Supply a call. They have had everything we needed for our 1939 H. 903-886-8775. Speak to Karen or Billy. They are great and will ship parts for you. They are located in Commerce, Texas.

TO my knolage they never made a .060 over bearing and the best you will find will be a .040 . So if your crank is that bad then it is good for a boat anchor .Time to look for a good crank. And there are enough of them out there.

It would probably be easier to find a good used crankshaft for your tractor. Hal
