and Jim it isn't that bad a job to change the seal, dropping the pump is, but if you have a friend and a floor jack its just a Saturday afternoon pastime

9 chances out of 10 it is coming out of the pump.
Like glennster says look in the archives. Either way you will end up dropping the pump. A floor jack helps here. I have done it by myself with a jack, but otherwise two people are needed.

The owners manual has directions on how to make a tool to help hold the pump upright and lower it with two people.

Others have used threaded rods and lowered it down that way. Anyway look in the archives.

Good luck, Gene

drop the inspection cover and look up toward the back of the tractor. could be leaking from the input shaft seal going in to the transmission or from the shaft that drives the belly pump. look thru the archives for posts from "neblinc" aka randy the tractor hoodlum.LOL sorry randy couldnt resist. he has an excelent collection of photos of his h he is rebuilding. it shows the shafts and seal replacement. if the leaks are there replace both seals, and as long as you are in there do the belly pumps seals too.
