Has anyone ever converted plow chief frogs to accept Super Chief shares?I have a set of 14" frogs and I was going to tinker with them over the winter.Don't want to pay big bucks for points if I can do a little fabricating to use the throw away shares.Or is it going to be easier to get different frogs?Like the plows(311's)and hate to quit using them.Just looking for advice. Thanks

Been a welder for almost 20 years and I have a budddy with a nice fab/machine shop who lets me work on projects for pretty much free.Might even build a set of frogs to fit.Shop I work in makes underground minig machinery (big stuff)and I can probably get some scrap from them.Provided the other half doesn't come up with some other project.

Thanks. What I might do is get one throwaway share and do some fabricating over the winter. Can see the red wrench getting a little work here.Just an experiment.

Weber: Not saying it can't be done, however I looked at this very subject back in the early 70s. Do you know if the Super Chief share will match up with the Plow Chief moldboard. Back then finding used Super Chief frogs would have been next to impossible. I didn't do any serious checking on the possible matchup, and I had just acquired two plows, a 3 and a 4 bottom Super Chief plows with a farm purchase. I sent the plow chief plow off to an auction.

I guess what I'm saying is do a bit of shopping, you may buy a Super Chief plow for less money.
