My SMTA, like many, is equipted with a hydraulis remote and the lift-all system, but no longer has the belt pully. My question is, is the lift-all able to be used as a second remote, that is, to run a 2nd cylinder independently of the hyd. remote as direct lift? If so, is it just a matter of attaching hoses to the outlets on the back of the reservoir, and use the lift-all control rod the same as the remote control or was it simply not designed to work this way at all? Is the lift-all purly hyd. lift and gravity return? According to the opp.man. the top outlet was routed through the belt pully which, as I said, is no longer on the tractor. Thanks for any help, Andy.

According the manual the "A"&"C" outlets were on the pully houseing from the outlet above the "B" outlet. That's how it figures into it the way I see it, or is the "A" outlet really the top outlet above "B"? I'm sorry but I'm mechanically pretty sound but hyds. are all greek to me.

If you have the extra IH "christmas tree" valve that aloows for 2 way operation, you can use it or the liftall, strickly singel action, but not both at the same time. Whichever is not used is blocked. I needed 2 valves on my SMTA so I ran the pressure line from the live pump to the inlet of the valve setup, the return from the valve setup goes to the inlet of the liftall reservoir(where the pressure hose goes now) the return from the reservoir goes back to the pump. You could conceivably use the liftall for a separate single acting cylinder also. I don't think the belly pump is an option on the SMTA as the housing is filled with TA.

No, there is no belly pump on the SMTA that space is taken by the TA. The reservoir is moved under the tank and the battery is under the seat.

The early (M) and late (SM) Lift-alls have the same operating features except the late ones are live. They are both single acting. The three ports on the SM reservoir provide real time and delayed lift for cultivators. The M Lift-all has the same features.

To add another circuit, an IH remote valve is plumbed into the pressure line several feet from the distributer pump. You can also install an aftermarket 4-way (A and B ports plus supply and return) valve off the top port at the back of the reservoir. The Lift-all has a small tab near the lever entrance to the reservoir. When the tab is rotated, this locks the lever in the rear position and allows for continuous flow to the aftermarket valve.

I made no reference to the belt pulley because it does not figure into anything hydraulic. You can install one or not.
