According to my uncle, who had a road construction company in Flora after the war, Mississippi Road Supply was started after the war and the first M-R-S tractors were produced in probably 1947. When visiting him in the late 40's he took me on a tour of the then new M-R-S factory.

Off topic, but related and interesting, my uncle and his family lived in one of the former officer houses on the abandonded military base. He had a son my age and each summer in the late 40's and early 50's I would visit him for about a week. We would play in all the empty buildings, ammunition bunkers, the empty swimming pool, and all over. In the woods we found an old 1920's or 1930's tank that the army had abandonded and left behind which we often played on. Advance ahead 40 or so years. About 12 or 15 years ago I went to the military museum on Camp Shelby near Hattisburg, Mississippi. In the museum is a restored tank of the 20's or 30's ventage. I immediately reconized it as the one we played on in the woods forty some years earlier. Checking, I found that it had been donated to the museum by a man who owned some of the old Flora base property and he had "found it in the woods" on his property. Just thought that might be interesting to some.

I went to that site but could not find any M-R-S photos. I will try your mts.net e-mail address.

Thanks, I will go check the emails and see if anything comes up.
I found actually 2 for sale today on the net. Not sure if they have been sold or still available. Hoping to get some pictures of them when they get back to me.

I know there are lots of guys with restored tractors but getting them to post pics tht others are able to find has been my biggest hurdle in my search for info/pics.

Kent,

I have e-mailed you my e-mail address. I have suggested on this site that any M-R-S owners post a picture of their tractor but have had no replies. I do not know where any are located.
