What year was the last year they made the Inernational 140? Also did it have gen, or alterator ?

Mark is right 1979 was the last year. In 80 the 274 diesel replaced it.

According to my parts info for the 140 tractors, the switch to alternators was at serial number 57724.
That would have been near the end of year 1975.

The Cub changed to alternator about the same time. Developing and manufacturing the mounts was quite a lot of work since the Cub and the 140 were nearing the end of their manufacturing cycles. Cub sales volume had dropped to very low numbers.I have suspected that the change was dictated because Delco stopped making the generators.

They quit production of the 140 in 1979. The last ones had an alternator, but I don`t know when the switch from a generator occured.
