throttle question M

I replaced the carb on my M. Got everything running fine --well, sounding fine. But the engine seems to run at one speed no matter how I move the throttle lever -wide open or way low. What am I missing? The master adjustment? Idle adjustment? Idle stop?

thanks

I am pretty sure this time that I got the notch fit into the square opening. I will have to take another look. Any other possibilities?

There is a speed adjustment screw in the carb. With the engine running, push the throttle lever all the way forward, turn the speed adjustment screw out and see if the engine speed slows down.

Yep, I would say Andy hit the nail square on the head. The shaft and notch have to line up properly. Have put mine together before and missed it too.

Make sure that the governor shaft engages the slot in the carburetor throttle shaft, if it does not, it will run at one speed. I had that problem with my H Farmall once.
