Had a 585 once. It replaced a 574 and was supposed to be the same power. Not even close. The 206 engine in the 585 seemed sick compared to the 239 engine in the 574. Would probably be a good loader tractor since you don't use a lot of power with a loader.

Hi last fall my brother bought a 3230, 2 wheel drive, no cab, 700 hrs for $9700 CND. The 3230 is same as 585 but 2 models newer.

No I ain't in the dark ages. I don't know what they are bringing now, I just told him what the two 2 wheel drives that I bought cost when new. Dad gave 19,000 for a 685 and cab used in 97. Also around here the IH or CaseIH tractors sell a lot cheaper than other brands, but 50 miles north they hold their own with them.

585 was built from 85 until the early 90's. I bought a new 2 wheel drive 585 in 91 and it wasn't near the tractor as my IH 584. Suppose to be the same, but the 584 had a lot more power. I traded mine off after 2 years. Still running the 80 model 584. Don't know what they bring nowdays, but I gave 15,000 for the 585 when new. Gave 10,500 for the 584. Went up 4500 in 10 years.

What you liven in the dark ages ??? Open your eyes up Getting bad out there when today a new Dodge 3/4 ton with a cummins cost more then i paid for a new 4300 semi tractor loaded with everything but the kitchen sink , the sink did not come out for two more years. And look at what the same Hp. tractor today would cost. So a real good 585 with a loader would bring between 8500-10500 with 4x4 option. First 3/4 ton 4x4 i bought back in 73 with a snow plow cost 4000 grad. in nov. of 77 a new 3/4 ton4x4 ford with plow cost me 10217.36 cents now today ya would have real close to 50000 grad . and people keep payen the price .
