I recently picked up a super m with the hydraulic resevoir under the gas tank. I was looking at it tonight trying to figure out how to check the oil level. How do you check the oil level, I didnt' see any plug or anything?

Also should I only use hydraulic oil in it or does hytran oil work just as well?

Use Hytran. If you can touch the oil through the fill hole with the first joint of your little finger (if it will go into the hole) it is ok. Otherwise maybe 1/2 inch below the fill hole, without checking the manual. There is no dipstick or check plug.

My hydraulic system has a long pipe that comes out of the left side of the resevoir(viewed from the seat) and goes up a good foot. It then has a breather cap screwed on the end of the pipe.

Do I have to run a wire down the pipe to check the oil? Or is there another hole to check?

Forgot about that, I was thinking of the C. My Super H manual (SM is the same), says to add until fluid is visible in filler opening. But, if you get it too full it will be forced out of the vent hole. My Super H was squirting it out the vent hole last time I used it, I think I got it a little high. I would interpret the manual to mean when you can see it at the bottom of the pipe. I would add to the level where the pipe screws into the resevoir.
