I was at a tractor junkyard today. I found a venturi just hanging on part of a carb on an H, so popped it off. The guy just gave it to me.

Who needed it? I'll send it to you and you can send me back whatever the postage was.

Well, glad you got what you needed. This one wasn't new, but I'm sure I can clean it up real good. I guess I'll put it up on Ebay and see what happens.

Yeah, what Bob said. And I was told it woud be difficult to get a venturi because without it the carb is useless. However, this was just a carb top, and had the venturi hanging off. So I snagged it for the guy who said he was having difficulty finding one.

Hi Andy, A venturi, is a narrowing in the carb just in front the throttle plate. It is to speed up the air flow and help create a vacuum to break up liquid gasoline into vapor. Without a venturi it is difficult to make the correct air mixture.

Thanks anyway, but I did get one from steel wheel ranch. It was a brand new one for $25.00 and it was here in a couple of days They have very good service. Wish I knew he had found it earlier, but maybe somebody else need one they are a hard thing to replace.
