I purchased an O12 that has not been running for 8 years. First thing I noticed was no gas in the tank or the filter bowl. When I put some in, after cleaning the bowl, the pump would not. When I took the pump apart the diaphram was too stiff to move. I flexed its edges and gradually got it to be a little more pliable. Now it moves a little air, kind of a snorting sound, when I push on the pump lever where the rod from the block whould normally push on. When I bolt it back on the block a few drops of gas do come out the output which is better than the nothing before. Still not much better though. Anyone have any hints about this or an idea where I can get a replacement diaphram or whole pump? After that I have to see why she's not sparking. But I haven't peeked at the points yet. Thanks in advance for the help!

Thanks I really appreciate all the advice and comments. Soon, maybe in a few months, I'll get the O12 good enough to take to a show. Thanks again.

If the diaphram isnt ruptured those two little discs in the body are check valves. Make suure they are working.

There are at least two diaphram scenarios in that fuel pump. It has been too long since I had one of those apart but one has the diaphram that comes out separatley and the other is a component part, I think it is attached to the plunger and conot be separated from it. Discribe yours to Gordon and he will set you up I am sure.

I have an O-12 that I restored about 7 years ago. The fuel pump should pump enough that you can hear the gasoline flowing back to the top of the front of the fuel tank which is where nearly all of it goes, some takes the T connection to the carburettor which is a bit of a problem if the tractor has been sitting a while as it takes a lot of cranking to get the carburettor bowl full with fuel before it even thinks of starting. The modern fuels don't help as they seem to lose all the important volatiles if the tractor has sate for some weeks.

Hi try Rice Equipment in Clarion Pennsylvania Phone #(814)226-9200 Gordon is very helpfull, kits are about $40 and a good idea to change the diaphram you don't want the fuel to leak into the crankcase.I have a Fairway 12 that i have started to restore it has not seen life in over 40 years.Like to see pics of yours good luck. Tom
