Evening All....
I had my Farmall A doing some tree work last night and ran it up the road at dusk. As I was running up the road in 4th gear I noticed that the right side of the rear of the tractor was oscillating up and down. It seems as though the tire is out of round. Is there anything I can do to fix this other than replacing?
CT

I don't have a tractor that doesn't do that after it's set a while.

I've just had this exact same trouble at work with a new Michelin (tubeless) tyre on a new machine. It turned out that the tyre was faulty, allowing air to go up between the inner and outer casings causing an air pocket making it lumpy up the road.

It could just be running bias ply tires. I know the bias tires on our fire trucks get nice flat spots when they sit for a while. Run radials :) then you wont have the problem.

I will get the right rear off the ground tomorrow night. I need to remove the rear weight and look at the studs, nuts and rim as well. Will post my findings tomorrow night.
Thanks,
Tim

Oh heck,

I notice that all the time. The longer the tractor is parked, the more of a "set" a tire can take.

Run it. Betcha it comes right out of that "flat spot".

As the previous posts mentioned, it could be tire mis-mounted (if just done) or slipped on wheel due to extraordinary sideways pressure or pulling pressure, tire damaged (pooching out at damaged and weakened area) or bent/damaged wheel or mounting holes. You need to get the tire off the ground and rotate it to see where problem lies. Good luck.

Verry possible it needs to have the beads broke loose and with good lube on the tire it should remount better. I have seen this in the past and using a good lube on the rim it will mount even.

I inherited a wheel on my BN where the holes for mounting the rims had been egged out (heavy cast wheel). Any chance you've got somethin' like that goin' on?

Is this a new problem, like new tires, i.e., anything changed recently? What have you got for wheels, as in stamped steel vs. the cast iron?
