DAVE240, I had two U's. One w/Du-Al loader and another w/rotary mower and front mounted all hydraulic blade. I'm sure you could contact some of the picture posters and they could help you w/parts/info. Hopefully a fellow from SE Wisc. sorry I forgot his name, will chime in w/Farmall 240. An Operators Manual is great to have. I made a mess refilling hydraulic system - not the best engineering feature IH developed. You should enjoy it, easy on/off for elderly (no slam there) and doesn't take much room so you can buy more!!

A1 L thank you for posting that link! i just posted a picture of the one i purchased. i had a typo this tractor is a 1958 not as i stated before a 1959. i have stripped the loader off and the front sheet metal, lower bolster was found to have damage so i will be replacing that soon, i found a used one, just trying to figure out what and were it needs the most attention and plug away getting repairs completed

What kind of loader is on yours? I have a 240u I have been toying with putting a loader on, but don't have the front side brackets or a pump. If it's an IH loader, I'd love to see a picture of the brackets so I can see if I can fab one.

Kevin

kevin my loader is an arps, i posted a picture of it with the loader on it, in the picture portion of this sight. my loader works off my touch control remotes. i know of another 240u with a factory ih loader that is the round tube style not the box tube, that i could get some pics of for you.

My loader looks identical to yours except it has a bolt-on wraparound bracket on the front. You said it works off the tractor hydraulics - does it seem to be fast enough or do you wish for more hydraulics?

I have a 240u also. I have an ARPS loader that I plan on putting on it. I would like to see some detailed pics of there your loader attaches to the tractor. I have a front pump with it but no hub or driveshaft.

Thanks

I WILL SEND YOU PICS OF THE BRACKETS AND WERE THEY MOUNT. AS WE SPEAK I HAVE STRIPPED THE LOADER AND FRAME WORK OFF SO I CAN WORK ON THE TRACTOR WITH OUT THE BRACKETS IN MY WAY. MY LOADER WORKS OFF THE TRACTORS HYDA TOUCH CONTROLS, I DONT HAVE A FRONT PUMP.
