Does anyone know what kind of oil goes in the transmission and hydrolics and what kind of grease goes in the rear end of a H tractor and an M tractor.
I"m looking for the heavier type oil because of small leakage.

The book calls for 30wt non detergent for the belly pump and 90wt for the trans/ rear end. If you have leakage at the axel seal it would be from bad bearings and is something to look into fixing before one of the balls falls out of the cage and gets shoved through the housing by the bull gears.

Use hydraulic oil for the hydraulics, both the H and the M use 6 quarts. For the trannismission you can use 80/90 weight gear oil or 140 weight gear oil. You would probably want to use the heaver oil to minimize leakage and also the 55-68 year old gears will run quieter with the heaver oil. The M holds 13 gallons and the H, 6 gallons.
