I have a Stage II SH, I bought it with the hydraulic pump missing and the rebuilt one that I bought to replace it came without the drive gear. My parts book dosen't list a different gear for Stage I vs. Stage II but I think I recall reading somewhere that the live pump takes a different gear. Obviously the number of teeth would be the same, heavier maybe??

GAUGER where did you get the rebuilt hydraulic pump if I may ask? My F300 started smoking like mad while I was disking, and the Aluminum(??) pump was hto hot to touch for sure. Any suggestions are appreciated. Dick Davis

I bought the pump from a fellow from Iowa who I believe has passed away. Hi name is Les Mooi??(spelling. I'm ashamed to say that he charged me $50.00 for it although I haven't run it yet. It looks good, new seals packed with grease and ports plugged.

I assume you mean the cam gear. I think the upgrade occurred with the Stage 1 and possibly with the last few regular H's. The latest parts books will only show the upgraded version. If you mean the pump itself, the gears are all the same, as the distributer mounted pump only came on the Stage 2.

I meant the the pump gear, on the Stage I's there is a cast iron shaft housing where the pump is on the Stage II. I took the gear off of a Stage I where it only drives the distributor, on the Stage II it drives the distributor and the pump. Didn't know if this gear is the same for I and II.
