My 1958 240 Utility has down pressure. Comes in handy scraping the driveway. I used it to lift the rear tires off the ground for painting, see the bent lift!!! Years ago I had a BF Avery that had down pressure also. Not sure what model or year. David.third party image

you're right , and also dont know if that is such a good idea,, I have lent some of my implements to a friend that has a belarus and with teh down pressure they come back damaged and bent sometimes,, the most recent was the post hole digger, you would think that would be a good thing the down pressure for that implement but if you hit a big rock,, I guess it just twists the flights,, no wait I dont guess,, thats what if did,,

down pressure is good for somethings??? I guess but not for many,

rret: George is correct, and I doubt if you will find a factory 3 point, any make or model, with down presure.

rret: Probably 99.9% of all intended uses on 3 point hitch requires no down presure. In fact most 3 point hitch implements would be damaged by tractor weight when going over uneven ground. The items that wouldn't be damaged like plows, disks, rear blades, etc. would lift the tractor's rear wheels causing it to loose traction.

I expect one could argue have down a down presure position on hydraulic control, and if that were the case it would probably be necessary to tripple the weight of 3 point linkage to withstand tractor weight. Couple that with the fact factory 3 point hitches are draft controlled and probably represent close to 12% of the total cost of the tractor. The 3 point hitch was designed as a precission control hitching tool, not a jack for lifting the tractor.

No down pressure on 454 or 2400.
