Is there a webbsite or organization I can write to that registers serial numbers on tractors and equipment? I have 4 Farmalls, none were acquired from family or friend so I have no history. It would be great to know the Dealership that sold them, who the first owner was, what state they started their working life in and so on.

Not for our red ones, unfortunately. Guy Fay, Ken Updike and others have done some great work and produced some nice books on the history of Farmalls and IH. They have relied on the IH corporate records at the Wisconsin Historical Society, and all lament the records that either never existed or didn't make it to the WHS archives. Those inclde daler records, records of how particular tractors were equipped at the factory . . .

If you don't have it, Guy Fay's International Harvester Tractor Data Book from MBI is a handy first reference to have around.
