breaking an A lose

my uncles getting a stuck a tommarow its been sitting in a shed for 10 years now is there any way it will break lose by putting a jack under the crank handle or will that not work ..still gonna let it sit for a week or so with penatrating fluid

I bought an H that was stuck from sitting.A old mechanic suggested I boil up some tranny fluid and pour down spark plug holes.Worked slick a couple of hours later put crank on it and it turned over.Did oil change put in battery and cranked it over to get oil out of cylinders replaced plugs some fresh gas and away it went.Still running 15 years later.Hope this works for you. When I did my Farmall A the head and oil were already off and the engine was stuck. I pour ATF into the cylinders and started to pull the engine.

Once I had the engine on my teardown stand I removed all the rod caps and loosen the main bearing caps. Then I took a piece of 2X2 oak and started tapping on the connecting rods. Two of the sleeves came out with the pistons and 2 of the
pistons came out without the sleeves. Then I drove out the other 2 sleeves. The block looked as if the engine had never been changed and I took it to work and steam cleaned the block. The crankshaft looked worse than it was. Our local machine shop called and said it only needed to be polished, but it would need .002" undersize bearings. They had the bearings too.

I bought a new sleeve kit and had new guides installed and the valve seats ground by the machine shop. Then I put in new valves and springs. I had to replace the tires, rims, fenders and steering wheel. Cleaning the dirt
and grease was the hardest job. It looked new
when finished and then I plowed the garden with it. Hal

I have nevewr had a bit of luck tring the jack or the tire or the bar trick to get one to free up and I do a lot of them. What has always worked if they where going to come free was the starter and a 12 volt battery. Short fast taps of the starter button and if its going to free up that will do it because the torque put out by a starter is more then any man can put out by using a bar or the tire trick, but will not put out enough to brake parts like tring to pull one will do. Soak it a couple weeks with tranny fluid and then with the plug back out, always put them back in to keep dirt etc out, then give the starter a try. Also if it has an up right exhaust pouring it full helps because it then gets in on the valve stems which can also lock up. BTDT and I have one broke valve on one in my shop because of a stuck valve

try pouring a little automatic transmission fluid and some penetrating oil (ie: WD-40 or PB Blaster) in the cylinder and let it sit for a week. I've used that method to get a few engines unstuck. If the one wheel in the air and in gear trick doesn't work, you'll have to take the head off and use a block of wood on the piston. Make sure you get a piece of wood that nearly fills the cylinder. try not to hit on the center of the piston as thats where its the thinnest. hit on the outside as much as possible. It would probably be a good idea to take the head off anyway just to see how much rust is in the cylinders. It would be a bad idea to break a ring and end up gouging a cylinder.

i would pull the starter and put a bar on the ring gear, also jack up one side of the tracotr put it in gear and rock it. outside of that youll have to pull the head ect... as for the crank it most likly will bend.
