My 1952 Super M has a Head #356980R1.I don't know what it came off of, but it doesn't have a connection at back of head to hook pipe to air cleaner for gov vent pipe. Correct Head # should be 356994R92. Can I put a t-pipe connection at front of head and run an outside pipe to air cleaner without suckin oil,( Theres no pipe runing over rocker arms to back of head) or should I put a hose on bottom of engine breather pipe to air cleaner. I think it needs something to cut down on condinsation. Iv'e been runing it with a plug in air cleaner. Been wondering about this for years and tired of worring about it . Need help. Buck E

The 400-450 heads Do-not have a fitting in the back of the head ! The tube under the valve cover is cut off and is only 6" long .

You need a valve cover off a 400,450 they have a welded in fitting so you can conect it to your air clearner. You can weld in a fitting into yours and put a hose barb in it and run a piece of rubber hose .

I put a 450 gas head on my "M" this year and i found the correct valve cover on ebay for $20.00 I also tapped a hole in the intake manifold and ran a hose from there to the valve cover insted of the air cleaner . [PVC] Works graet keeps moisture out of the motor .

Thanks a bunch, you all. This tracter had a 400 radiator on it that was too big for front grill. Guess it got the 400 head at the same time.I put an M radiater on it. I should have asked you all a long time ago. Thanks again for solving my problem. Buck E

356980R1 is a SM and other block casting number.
You may have a head from a 400,450 or other on tractor, if no ventilation hole drilled in rear of head. Get a valve cover for one of those tractors. They use a hole in cover with vent going to air cleaner. Also in front vent hole in top of head a piece of 1/4 inch pipe about 2 inches long was screwed in head. No overvalve pipe was used.
