Had a Pentrox(sp?) electronic ignition installed during a TA replacement on F300. Started and ran better than ever. Was running full throttle harrowing plowed ground when engine stopped - didn't slow down - didn't lose power - stopped. Tried to start - wouldn't fire but with choke it back fired big time. Let it set 1/2 hour and got same results. I checked for obvious disconnect wires - couldn't find anything obvious. Only have put about 2 hours on since ignition installation. Where do I start to trouble shoot? Tractor still in middle of field. Thanks in advance Dick

Sounds to me like something slipped causing the timing to be way off. Check to see if the Petronix unit is securely in place. Also check to see if the distributor is clamped securely in place.

If you have the old points and condenser I would reinstall them to get the tractor running and out of the field. I would call Pertronix at 1-800-827-3758 and see what they have to say. Hal
