My son has an "A" with no openong in the bell housing for a starter. No lites. Nothing electrical other than magneto. Were there many of these made in this style? Is this one of the early models of the A ?
Thanks

The one you are talking about is an early model. Later on they would install the bell housing for a starter whether or not it would leave the factory with a starter and just put a plate over the hole. Yours probably doesent have the flywheel machined for a ring gear either. So if you want a starter you will need to split the tractor of course but before doing mite want to look in the inspection hole on the bottom of your present bell housing to determine if the flywheel need changing also.
