My 544 has 15.5x38's on it, and I'd like to go to 16.9x34's. Lots of 3020's around here with that size. I think that would be the perfect tire for the 544, good sized footprint and not any taller than a 15.5x38. I've never seen 34" cast wheels on a 656 series tractor, how about you guys? Do I have any options? I don't like the looks of pressed steel wheels on a row-crop tractor.

i've got a set of 34" hubs off a 986, same size axle as 806, 706, etc, not sure about 544. i'd trade straight up if it works. I'm in NY.

Either that, or sell me your 544 and get a 656!

What good would that do for KB, 656 was available with same wheel equipment as 544. Not saying the axle is same size, however it may be. Both 544 and 656 were available with cast wheels for 38" rims and pressed steel wheels in 34" rim size.

K.B.: I can't remember ever seeing anything but cast 38" or pressed steel 34" rims for those small chassis tractors. If there were, I missed it. There were cast 34" wheels for the 766 and 966.

Thanks Hugh, that's pretty much what I was expecting to hear. Parts book does show a cast 34" wheel that bolts up to the hub used for pressed steel, but I've never seen such a wheel in person. Guess I'll stick with the 15.5's.
