Did you notice the article posted on Red Power site that Case/IH is renaming the various tractor models up to 95 horsepower FARMALL for 1908.

harold my son bought a 55 hp farmall,nice tractor .but i dont no if it will take a bunch of hard work over the years like the old letter tractors, with the new farmalls the hp will the the number system.

I think the IH marketing guys need some help with naming the models.. DC, DXU, DD55.. whatever! I say bring back the classic letter series names for a few years.
Can you imagine what a new Farmall H, or M series would be like in a 2008 model? (replace the JX series?) Talk about name recognition... And maybe this time they could detail the tractor in something other than a tiny "farmall" name plate on the nose...

Some might argue confusion between the old and new models. I don't think you would have a problem here. Auto companies keep the same model name around for years.

They must be extending the name into higher hp series. The little tractors have carried that name for a few years now.
