I just bought a 1944 Farmall H and when we got the tractor running it revs up high and when you try to throttle the tractor down it will not come down and we have taken off the carb and put a new carb kit in it and that did not change it. Can any one help me. Thanks Gary.

When you were putting it back together, did you make sure that the tooth on the end of the governor to carb was engaged with the slot on the carburetor throttle shaft? I once put the carb on my H and did not have that put together properly and the tractor ran fast and would not go down. I pulled off the carb and made sure that the governor shaft tooth was engaged in the carburetor shaft slot (in the slot only) and it ran correctly.
