A friend and I have a bet .He thinks a 1951 M Front bolster [narrow double front wheels] will fit on a single wheel SH. The plan is to replace the SH front with a double wheel front. We have an M for parts. While working on the M we found a hole in the cylinder wall, so figured it was junk. Any ideas?

A repair sleeve can be put in the block by a machine shop unless the hole is too close to the top or bottom.

Nope. The pivoting (steering) part of the bolster has different spacing for the bolts. The M has a wider spacing for those 4 bolts.

The main casting that does not pivot has the same spacing, so a wide front from an H thru 560 will interchange, but the steering arms won't.
