Just in case anyone searches this topic in the future I wanted to post this so they wouldn't be confused by my previous posts.

If you don't have enough room to couple the clutch shaft at the rear end, you don't have the shaft inside the pilot bearing.

If it appears as though the clutch disk is spinning off-kilter, you don't have the clutch shaft in the pilot bearing. (Or perhaps a broken and non-existant pilot bearing).

Living and learning. I'm really good at getting the clutch out and back in now, down to about 10 minutes. Nothing was bent thankfully. I did have the disk in backwards, probably had something to do with not being able to get the shaft all the way in? Man, do I need supervision.

Took her out for a ride, ended up giving tractor rides to about half a dozen neighborhood kids. First rides I've ever given. Hopefully planted a few red tractor bugs.

B
