I have located a Louisville SM that is going to auction Oct. 6. It is a fairly complete tractor, runs fair, fair rubber, decent metal with aftermarket 3 pt.hitch.
I am wondering what would be a fair price.
I would appreciate any comments. Thanks.

A SM is nothing special. If you find a collector with excess cash and you totally restore it, you might get $2500. The tractor craze is declining as more and more of the older guys cross on over. The young guys today don't really have the ties to farming that the older guys did. I wouldn't go over $1500 if it ran well, had good tin and rubber.

I don"t think that the plant of origin makes much difference. The condition, and hitch do (for a user tractor) 2000, or 2500 seems about right. If you have used it for an hour or so and the trans is tight and quiet, and rubber has life in it that range might be a bit low. JimN
