I know this is somewhat off topic, but don't know where else to go with this. (Not really a for sale ad, yet.)
My in-laws have an IH Freezer, dated 8-28-51, Model 111, 58" long and 29" wide. Motor and compressor run but unit does not cool. It has very little rust and owner has kept it very clean. Anyone know what value it might have? Freezer is near Madison, Wi.

You probably have a coolant leak. Comments regarding juice use and heft are correct. I had a drive-by acquisition of an IH '51 model frig and am going to look into a new/efficient compressor for it. Middleton is the site for an upcoming IH RPRU July 23-25, 2009. If you can hold off until then, take some prospective buyers on a brewery tour, maybe they will be lubed up enough to tote it out with you just being a sidewalk superintendent. Good luck.

There are collectors who would like to have one, preferably operational.

I'd try the want ads.

None,

Those old things pull juice like you wouldn't believe. Were okay back in the 50s when energy was cheap.
