Check eBay that is the best source. Every once and a while a correct style jar will be listed under Farmall parts. Or search for fruit jars and look for the wide mouth Ball jar that you need.

Just as everything else. Ebay. Just hang onto your wallet. Type in Ball special widemouth and shop to your heats content.

Any wide mouth canning jar will fit, including mayonaisse jars. The original square shaped jars are a bit hard to find as they are no longer being manufactured, or at least no one carries them in my area.

Wal-Mart. Square sided Ball brand jars. Look almost identical to the original and they are 1/4 the price.

Crusader is correct. The official squarish jars said Special on the side below the Ball logo. JimN

Would that be "special" as in "special mason"? Jars like that can be found at garage sales pretty regular around here....square sided, ball special mason.

Not sure where to tell you to look, but they shouldn't be that hard to find. They (OEM) were pint or half pint wide mouth "MASON" brand jars, but you should be able to use any of them as long as they are wide mouth. Get with some of the folks in your are that are into canning thier produce from their gardens and orchards. They will most likely have what you are looking for.
