Power Steering on '41 M

Grandpa's M had a charlynn power steering unit on it. I have rebuilt the motor and the water pump was shot. I got another from a neighbor fan and all, so I tossed the other. The fan grandpa had on it was obviously not from an M and had been cut to fit in the shroud. There was also much less pitch to the blades. With the new fan and water pump the fan hits the power steering pump belt. What do I need to do to correct this? Extending the fan forward with spacers does not seem to be an option as then the drive to the water pump will not work. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Original charr lynn kits included fan spacers with longer bolts. Instead of the special IH drive studs to turn impeller shaft, 2 regular 1/2 inch bolts with thin sleeves were used.

I put an M engine in my 400 temporarily and added the power steering back to it. When I got it all bolted together, the fan hit the pump mount. I checked the old fan on my 400 and it was made with a different spacer on one side of the fan tesioner. When I changed the tensioner it moved the fan out to clear the pump housing. It moved forward about 3/8 if I remember correctly. You may have to find a different fan assy. I can't remember if the spacer was removable. Hope this helps. Lee
