I was looking at an 826 diesel in an auction coming up and I am wondering do these have the double pto? 540/1000. also I think by the pic I saw that it is a gas, are these very fuel efficient gassers? thanks,

The 540/1000 dual shaft unit and the 1000 RPM-only single shaft unit were both optional attachments, with no PTO being standard. 99% of 826's have the dual shaft unit. The gas engine is about as thirsty as they get (7 gallons an hour under full load), and it is not nearly as well built as the diesel. I'd recommend holding out for a diesel.

Yep, 301. I have yet to see a gas powered 826 or 856 in person. Quite a few 806 gassers around though. Can't beleive there was ever a time when a guy could make a living while burning 7 gallons of gas an hour all day long for days on end.
