I have located a 560 diesel narrow front with fast hitch to put my 234 cornpicker on. The engine is stuck to the point you can't turn it by hand so I have no idea how bad the engine is. the tires and rear rims are shot the seat has no cushion left. the tin work is fairly straight cept the front ladder is bent a lil. I left him with a bid of 1000 dollars but he is wanting 1500 out of it. I think that 1500 is high and i even think 1000 is a bit high but I'm in a bind to get the picker home by January. I'm looking for some more input and any help will be greatly appreciated.

I bought a 560 for 1300 fair tires on back on rim is not the healthiest shape the other is brand new I bought it with the problem of hard starting pulled it apart found three bad glow plugs and bad injectors so itll be a quick fix I hope. Other minor issues will be taken care of before the picker is mounted. The picker subframe is of the cylindar lift type which will be good for the tractor the gentleman that had if before me used a 460 on it but he used it on table top ground and I thought a 560 would be a lot better on my hilly ground I will hopefully have something goin together here soon the guy that told me it had to be moved by Jan said it could sit there till spring and maybe Fall "08 the picker is in great condition so I hope I can get goin in memory of the Bartel Brothers.
Thanks for all your guys help

I paid $3500 for one this past spring...fresh rebuild with redone head, new radiator, fasthitch,ta works fine, one good tire with new rim...need to get a match..rim is good....still needs some cosmetics and paint but it works well after some adjustments and minor stuff...needed a better baling, plowing , discing tractor...

Don't know if you have had a 234 on a 560 before or not, but we have. The mounts were hard to find and hydraulics barely had enough to raise the picker with the mounts that used the fast hitch to raise it, don't know if cylinder lift would be better or not. This 560 has good hydraulics will still lift a 1600 pound round bale. When we used the 560 on the 234 we still cultivated and we quit discing the endrows because the bouncing helped raise the picker. When we put the picker on an 856 we liked it a lot better. Lee

560 should have no problems lifting a picker at all. My old M raises mine right up and it don't have near the hydraulic capacity as a 560.

An M would use the remote cylinder lift subframe with a 234 picker and maybe that would work better than the one that used the fast hitch on the 560 as we had. Lee

I agree with Allan. 560's can be bought fairly cheap in good condition. Cost a fortune to go through that diesel engine. Then you may have other troubles on top of that.

A "stuck" diesel is a very "iffy" thing, especially on those old 560s.

Sounds like a boat anchor to me, not worth the trouble to haul home and I'd just keep looking.

Just my opinion tho,

Allan

Here,

Go buy this one. At that price, you can kick that junk IH loader off there; sell it, the wide front and just about have a good, free tractor.

Again, just my take,

Allan

I think it looks like another road trip for me if he don't beat me to it Allan.

I agree with Allan go after a running 560 like that one.

Especially if you need it by January.

Tires and rims will eat up $1500.With another $2000+ in the motor on that stuck one.
