I really doubt that you will find a new one unless it would happen to be new old stock. They are no longer being made, plus, it is not likely that you will find a used hood that won't need some kind of work either. Stress cracks from vibration can be brazed or welded and made to be invisible, and the hole around the exhaust pipe can also be patched. Find a good body and fender shop, or start learning the skills yourself. It's kinda fun once you get the hang of it.

we just finished restoring dads 52 john deere g and it had alot of work done to the hood but the farmall m hood like you said suffers alot from vibration and stress a little concerned about the filler not lasting I have a deere 50 that needs only to be painted but I love those m tractors plus it has power steering

Just to assist, not flame. The best bet is to use the add section to the left. Though some times requests and for sales get answered here, the discussion is for topics, not needs for parts. JimN

The need for a hood is a topic i was needing to discuss, on the discussion forums, if you folks would assist and not insist it might be more helpful if you dont know the answer to the question dont bother with it and dont be flamed by this; your comment did not flame me; it assisted me to think of the statement..... ..

Chad
the guys in here can be "clicky" so if your in there click you can pretty much say what you want and others will help you out. One day i put some pictures of some nice tractors that i came across and some others gave me alot of slac for it. don't worry about it. These guys on here are some of the best people i know, and are very helpful.

I know where there are 2 M hoods sitting right now. I'm in s.e. mn. where are you located?
