I stopped at the machine shop last weekend to see if he had started on the block yet. He had it in the "soup" for a week and just pulled it out. He will check it over for cracks and he said the crank will need to be turned down.

He thought the camshaft looked ok, just need to polish it.

He will let me know when he gets into it so I can order the correct bearings and all the rest of the stuff $$$$ third party image

Now that it has cooled off I think I will work on the 43H and fix the oil leaks, won't cost as much and I can get it fixed up quicker. Been trying to find good prices on tires and not having much luck, hard to get anything for under $500 for a pair of rear tires.

That is an interesting way to do it. But a fine member of YT had a junk grill that he cut the specific piece out for me. He should be sending it soon, if it's not on the way already.

I'll read over that whole site when I get a little time. Thanks a lot for that link Randy!

How is your progress going? I love to read about the mess you are fixing!
