I went to get fuel filters for my super mdta and they gave me two paper filters and said that it took both of the same filters. I got home and one fit right but the other one was to small where the o ring is for the base. Does anybody know what the correct numbers are that i need.

Some of my diesels have been changed through the year to use paper in both. I don't know that it makes any differents. If you use paper in place of the cloth, leave out the metal piece that goes on top of the cloth. I'm not sure if you can get the cloth any more.

My MDTA has 2 different kind of filters. The final is a paper filter and the aux one looks like yarn wrapped around a tube then slid off.

I do not see the SMDTA on my parts cd but the SMD has a 62946DA, Auxiliary Fuel Oil Filter element. The drawing shows it much smaller than the final fuel filter. On the SMD there are at least 4 different filters listed depending on the serial number and the model for the filter assembly.
