Does anyone have a picture of can direct me to the correct bracket used to hook the lift chain to the lift arm? I need something to go by to make one I know the set up I have cannot be correct since it is pulling at an angle and I have broken 1 lift arm already, broke one side off where the 2 pins go in. I don't want to hook it back up just to break another lift arm. I think the mower is a model 22.

Thanks for any help.

I think the mower Chadd has is a highway mower, which has a much more complicated set-up. It will mow in any position and is heavy duty.

If you go here: Link

And click on: Begin your SEARCH for PARTS right here! , on the right side of the page, the Case/IH parts book will open.

In the MODEL box, enter 22 and hit search.

The 22 International Harvester Mower will be about six listings down. Click it, and then click figure listing.

Click Q-04 and you are looking for item 29 and 30. There is a + sign that will enlarge the picture right above the image.

Part 29 is help by the pin in the arm and point straight down. Part 30 goes up at an angle toward the front of the tractorand bolts around the arm to provide additional support.
Good Luck

Daniel

Thanks, that explans why the flat plate that came with the mower broke the lift arm out, it uses both pins in the lift arm so it act like a leaver to break it out.

Looks like something easy to build, have to guess at the dimensions but it wont be the first time.

Every spring I do the maintenance on a 130 International with a mounted sickle mower, which is probably very similar to the set-up you have. Unfortunately, it isn't here, and I don't have a picture of it. Attached to the short arm (the one with the two bolts in it) was a cable which ran down the left side of the tractor to a pulley down by the bar that mounts down the tractor's centerline. From there, it runs to a cast-iron piece that looks like a quarter of a pulley; which is mounted onto the head of the mower (the part where the pto shaft goes into the mower). It follows that curved groove and then bolts into the far end of it. The arm on the right side had 1 or two chains hanging down that were bolted to the frame of the mower about halfway between the bar down the tractor's centerline (that acts like a hinge) and the mower head itself. There were also two large springs that were used to dampen shock loading to the frame and the arm. There was also a small rod that went from the clutch housing of the tractor to the mower to prevent strain on it while transporting it down the road that was disconnected when it was used. During use, the rod simply hung from the tractor. Sorry I can't be more help.
